Research

Ian's current research is in the generation and clustering of domestic electricity usage profiles and the detection of “interesting” patterns with a view to reducing electricity usage or increasing electrical efficiency. He is working on a research project concerned with maximising the impact of demand-side interventions on the overall electricity network.

I am associated with the The Mixed Reality Laboratory (MRL) and the Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute.

Teaching & Supervision

  • My supervisors are Uwe Aickelin and Tom Rodden
  • Lab supervision for "Introduction to Modeling and Optimisation" (G52IMO) - 2011 and 2012

Current Projects

  • Desimax - maximising demand side management. Research is funded through EPSRC grant reference EP/I000496/1.

Memberships

  • Member of IEEE (2012)
